Central Park Tower (CPT) was bound to make an impact. With its record-setting height, its glimmering facade, and an array of amenities that make its ultra-luxury description sound wildly inadequate, there was no way this building wasn’t going to get a lot of attention. It’s the tallest residential building in the world, and it borders Central Park, one of the most famous green spaces on the planet.
Architectural Digest wrote that CPT “raises the bar of luxury to conjure a vision of the highest of high-end swank.” They also called CPT’s interiors “sumptuous yet exquisitely tailored” and Central Park Club’s interiors “fluid, though cohesive.”
The club in question is—get ready for another record—the highest private club in the world and spans 50,000 square feet spread over three floors. It includes a 60-ft outdoor swimming pool, a screening room, a high-end fitness center and spa, a private park, a cabana deck, a billiards lounge, a wine and cigar lounge, and a bar and restaurant with world-renowned chefs in charge of the menu. As the Wall Street Journal reported, “For the club’s private restaurant, a trio of Michelin-starred chefs—Laurent Tourondel, Gabriel Kreuther, and Alfred Portale—have been selected to design a menu which Colin Cowie, a celebrity party planner and the building’s lifestyle coordinator, described as ‘Mediterranean, with subtle French and Italian undertones.’”
If Central Park Club were on the ground floor, it would still be noteworthy, but the club’s one-of-a-kind location brings it to another level entirely—both literally and metaphorically. Again we turn to Architectural Digest’s assessment: “All of these amenities are made that much more luxurious by the 360-degree views of Central Park, both the Hudson and East River, and the Manhattan skyline.” The club will be extremely exclusive, only available to residents and a highly select group of invitees.
The Wall Street Journal has also covered the expansive array of unparalleled sky-set amenities, stating, “It’s unusual to have such amenities located so close to the top of a residential building where the square footage is most valuable.” It is unusual, but the proposed crown jewel of Billionaires’ Row clearly does not traffic in the usual.
